Project Truth Roadshow 2015

Last year we ran our first ever Project Truth summer roadshow and it was fantastic success!…but don’t worry if you missed it, because this year it will be even bigger and better!

If you are aged between 18-35 and would like to do something challenging and fulfilling this summer, why not join this mission to help bring the pro-life message to thousands of people throughout the country and help create a strong pro-life youth network in Scotland. This year’s roadshow will take place from Sunday 9th – Saturday 15th August. If you would like to sign up, please fill in this form and post it to us at SPUC Scotland, 75 Bothwell Street, Glasgow, G2 6TS: Sign up Sheet

During the 6 days of the roadshow, we will be setting up Project Truth stalls in the centre of each city we visit. From there we will distribute pro-life literature, gather signatures for a pro-life petition and enter into dialogue with the general public.  You will also get the chance to tour many beautiful cities in Scotland, enjoy the scenery and have some good banter at night time at the best pubs we can find! The cost of the roadshow is being heavily subsidised by SPUC Scotland, so the cost of participating is only £50 per person for the full week. This covers accommodation for 6 nights, breakfast and dinner. What a bargain! If, however, you can’t dedicate a whole week, don’t worry, please join us during the day in one or more of the cities or for a few days at a time.

Check out our picture highlights from last year’s event!

Here are some of the testimonies of those who attended the event:

The roadshow was a wonderful opportunity to build strong friendships with lovely new people which I intend to maintain in the future. The experience was very insightful, observing people’s reactions when we invited them to sign our pro-life petition to protect the unborn. Almost all had never had such an experience before, or contemplated the issue to a large extent. Many were amazed not having heard such information before, and were grateful for our efforts to inform them.” (Michael, 21)

Project truth was an amazing experience during which me and 10 volunteers traveled round 6 cities in Scotland and promoted the first 10 weeks of the development of the baby. Before going on Project Truth I was slightly nervous about the reaction we may have received from the public. However I need not have been, because although there were some debates on the whole we received a very positive response. The discussions we had were not always easy, some I would even class as heartbreaking but with such an inspiring group of people to be around we couldn’t help but have fun along the way. I feel I have gained so much from this experience, it was one of the best weeks of life. I would do it again in a heartbeat.” (Catherine, 18)

This year’s fundraiser will be carried out by one of our youngest supporters, Joseph Blackhall, who is 10 years old. On Sunday 30th May, Joseph will run the Edinburgh 2K Junior Marathon to help raise money for SPUC Scotland’s Project Truth campaign. Joseph, the son of SPUC Scotland’s Education Officer Leonora Blackhall, decided that he would like to raise money for Project Truth after attending his first pro-life event in 2014.

If you cannot attend the event but would like to sponsor Joseph, please follow this link where you can make a donation via Paypal. Please put the reference ‘PT Roadshow’ along with your donation.

Many thanks for your support, this event could not happen without it!
